The purchase of the 3 metre wide Picanol looms brought about
great changes in the production of Atex fabrics.
With their
smaller-sized gripper heads the new looms applied less pressure
on the warp threads, producing minimal filamentation, which
has resulted in the shed size being reduced and the ability
to weave with a more controlled and lighter warp tension
causing less contraction of the base fabrics.
The machines
are also equipped with the ‘sumo motor’ which
assures starting marks can be reduced by over 90%.
Overall
the new looms have really improved fabric quality across
the range.
